POONCH: Governor J&K Satya Pal Malik, the other day, surprised one and all when he used the word “Political Juvenile” for former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. Governor was referring to the corruption in the state of Jammu and kashmir and said that famous Kashmiri politicians remained neck deep involved in corruption. Governor said that wherever he goes, he finds footsteps of them and also gave an indirect hint that few former ministers are likely to be taken to task for their corrupt misdeeds. Governor’s tough approach against corruption has given a big setback to those ex-ministers who were known for corrupt practices. While targeting Omar Abdullah, Governor said that he(Omar) was fond of tweets, but 90% of people always give him negative views and this clearly shows about his lack of popularity among the people. Malik said that he doesn’t belong to a royal family. He came to J&K with 50 years of experience in politics and have a clean image. Governor said that Omar is a political juvenile whose main work is to tweet only and has no ground footing. However, it would be interesting to see how Omar responds to Governor’s “Political Juvenile” attack. The war of words between Omar and Governor has set the political tempo of the state high. Governor’s hard approach against opposition leadership has shown that the state is all set to witness political thundering with opposition leaders like Omar, Dr Farooq and Mehbooba are likely to hit back politically, if government takes any harsh decisions in days to come. Meanwhile, governor’s approach against corruption has been welcomed by people from every section of the society and people wish that governor needs to expose big fishes to restore peoples faith in the institution of governance.
