JAMMU: A Police officer, already served on many prime postings, which are known for bovine activities, is now running from pillar to post to get himself adjusted on an another prime posting on a highway area of Jammu, which connects Jammu with Kashmir and is considered as a hub of huge bovine smuggling and land mafia. The said Police officer during his previous posting in an another smooth place for bovine smuggling, earned in several lacs through his subordinates. Since his interest is also in land grabbing, so he is eyeing a prime location in Jammu which is known for both land mafia and bovine smuggling. Also considered as close one of a high profile political-cum-administrative personality and is making all deals for him, the Police officer is forcing his boss to ensure shifting of a Dy.SP level officer, who has given a massive blow to the bovine smuggling industry during the last eight months with his professionalism under the direction of his superior Police officers. Even a renowned politician belonging to a political party is supporting the Police officer who wants to be posted as SHO there. Majority of bovine smugglers have close links with that politician and eyeing commission from bovine smuggling industry, the said politician is also helping him whole heartedly. Considered as a very shrewd Police officer, he is regularly pressurizing his boss to first shift a Dy.SP level officer, who has succeeded in curbing various crimes and bovine smuggling from that highway place. The said Police officer who wants shifting of a Dy.SP from that place, wants a free hand as SHO to ensure his smooth and handsome earnings from land deals and bovine smuggling industry. Right from that very location, bovine smuggling mafia and land grabbers are facing the heat due to very tough measures imposed by a Dy.SP after his posting nearly eight months ago. On one hand, J&K Police has done a commendable job in controlling law and order during tense situations, but on the other hand, there are Police officers whose main interest is to earn money from bovine smuggling and land grabbing, where ever they go and such officers need to be taken to task for bringing a bad name to the country’s elite institution of J&K Police.
