BDO Poonch shielding corrupt officials, violates RTI act

POONCH: The office of BDO Poonch has become a toll tax centre where open loot of government money is going on, thanks to a well planned nexus between BDO office and field staff which includes GRS, Technical Assistants, JEs, Secy Pyts. Tainted officials are so busy in bungling that few of them are taking the services of PWD JEs for the preparation of fake bills. BDO reportedly has given full shelter to all his subordinate officials. The other day, BDO was approached through a RTI to provide the details of works under various schemes in Ajote, Degwar Maldayalan and other Panchayats, but knowing fully the state of affairs on ground, BDO preferred to shield his tainted officials and failed to provide the RTI reply. By violating the transparency act, he has accepted indirectly that the block has become famous for corrupt practices as ground situation is entirely different from what lies on paper. Cement scam has become a regular routine with unloading of cement at unknown locations on and off. Withdrawal of funds for nonexistent works remained a routine issue. Even those working on contractual basis are earning like anything what to talk of other regular staff.  Tainted officials even diverted funds meant for other works in addressing the concern of few ex-legislators. Open loot is going on in the block without any action from the government. Even, new Block Chairman proving to be an inefficient one in handling all issues, because of having no knowledge of RDD system and  who is reportedly being run from a remote control of few people.
