Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce chaired meeting to review Industrial activity and official work plan amid COVID-2019.

JAMMU, March 21: Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi today chaired meeting of all Head of Departments and Corporations at Udyog Bhawan, Jammu.
Dwivedi at the outset discussed the situation arising out of the continued lockdown and enquired about the welfare of industrialists, artisans and lower end workers and staff of all the departments. He exhorted all HODs to ensure that benefits of the schemes announced by the Government shall reach to all the concerned in their domains. Director, Industries of Jammu and Kashmir, both gave a brief of the industrial activity resumed in their regions and apprised the chair that all the necessary Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines are being adhered to by the unit holders. They also put forth the difficulties being encountered by the entrepreneurs in smooth running of their units.
Director of Handloom and Handicraft and J&K Handloom Corporation informed that their units at Jammu and Srinagar are making cotton masks and about 1 lakhs masks so far have been made and distributed, whereas Secretary, KVIB informed that nearly 4 lakh masks have been made and supplied to various quarters by their operating units. Director, Geology and Mining informed that some illegal mining activities have been noticed in few places and the concerned District authorities have been requested to take immediate action in the matter. Commissioner Secretary advised the Director to take up the matter with Divisional Commissioner and Inspector General of Police of both the divisions to request their intervention to curb the illegal mining going during lockdown period.
Managing Director, J&K SIDCO and MD SICOP both informed the chair that cleanliness, fogging and fumigation of all the Estates is being done on regular basis. The complete hygienic and sanitized surroundings are maintained around the buildings at Rangreth and Lassipora which have been put to use as quarantine centers. He also informed that the engineering staff has mobilized the contractors and supervisory staff for resumption of construction activities in the Industrial Estates. The chair advised that the construction works should be prioritized as per the importance and availability of labour at site. A strict monitoring shall be done by the department regarding social distancing adhering to the guidelines and SOPs issued from time to time. He also gave directions for taking care of migrant labourers who may be facing problems due to Lockdown.
Managing Director, J&K TPO briefed the work done during lockdown and informed about active interactions currently going on with investors. Sh.Manoj Kumar Dwivedi asked concerned HODs to firm up the land details which shall be made available for investible projects. He also advised to utilise social media platforms to spread different safety guidelines for generating awareness amongst Industry player to contain COVID-19 pandemic and publicise use of Aarogya setu app by the different Industrial players and their employees. He asked all HODs to make roaster of employees to keep offices functioning while maintaining social distancing and sanitization. He also directed to work from home to red zone area staff. He directed all HODs for giving full support to district administration to combat COVID-2019.

Hashmat Ali Yatoo, J&K Handloom Corporation Sh.Rakesh Sharma, Managing Director J&K SICOP Sh.Atul Sharma. Director Industries and Commerce, Kashmir Sh. Mahmood Ahmad Shah, Managing Director J&K Cements Sh.I.H.Drabu, and Secretary, KVIB Sh. Rashid Ahmad Qadri participated through video conferencing.
