Few Executive Officers of Rajouri Municipality scripted various financial irregularities; Directorate of ULB Jammu in slumber

RAJOURI: Huge financial irregularities were scripted by few Executive officers, who remained on hot seat of Rajouri and Surankote Municipality during the last few years. Funds related to SBM, purchasing electric related items, Disinfectant, Petrol, Tool Plants, office expenses and few other works related passage of bills, brazenly used in a wrong way by successive Executive officers. Even, powerful persons within and outside Rajouri Municipality adjusted their close ones in Rajouri Municipality through doubtful means, and this issue never got the attention of government as how open fraud was going on in Rajouri Municipality. Likewise, in Surankote Municipality, E.O shows expenditure under different heads on paper, but failed to show bank statements, vouchers and bills of works which he claimed and this shows that how few E.Os over the years in Surankote, Rajouri and Kalakote Municipality played foul with government exchequer. Similar reports of financial irregularities are also coming from Thanamandi and Nowshera municipalities by E.Os and few staff members posted there.  Successive E.O’s of Rajouri with few powerful officials posted in municipality scripted various irregularities in a secret manner and even elected representatives failed to detect their wrong work culture. Similar  foul activities were carried out in Surankote and Kalakote Municipality.  Record available with “POONCH TODAY”  shows that there exists a good relation between frauds and department of Urban Local Bodies as many frauds were detected over the years under the domain of Local bodies, Jammu, but no action was even taken against the erring officials. A high level inquiry is needed from government to detect multiple frauds which were scripted in Rajouri, Surankote, Kalakote, Thanamandi and Nowshera Municipalities, because directorate of urban local bodies Jammu seems to be in slumber and not in a mood to punish officials responsible for such acts.
