RAJOURI: Thanamandi Municipal committee where massive murder of funds taken place, is again in news and this time for adjustment of close relatives of few Executive officers as Safai Karamcharis and few of them promoted as Junior Assistants out of the way. In response to government directions to Executive Officers regarding preparing a list of those Safaikaramcharis, who had completed seven years of service, E.O MC Thanamandi and few other E.Os heading different municipalities earlier, managed to adjusted their close relatives on the post of Safaikaramcharis and few of them later promoted as Junior Assistants. This open fraud was scripted in MC Thanamndi and Executive Officer who is currently running the affairs is also involved in this process. List of people who were adjusted through backdoor exclusively lies with this newspaper. This covert operation of adjusting their close ones by Executive Officers took place few years ago, but highly placed sources in the Directorate of Urban Local Bodies Jammu told “POONCH TODAY” that the directorate was also aware of this fraud, but those sitting at the helm of affairs did not take any action. “More staff on casual basis was recruited in some municipalities of Jammu division through backdoor and if government starts an investigation, then many such cases of backdoor appointments will come out” said, sources. They also said that few Municipal committees of Rajouri district scripted multiple financial frauds and M.C Kalakote and M.C Rajouri top the list. In M.C Rajouri also, many people were adjusted through backdoor and majority of employees adjusted are relative of those already  serving in M.C Rajouri on permanent basis. Financial frauds in various M.Cs  of Rajouri district has remained a continuous process, but the adjustment of close relative of Executive Officer  on posts meant for Safaiwala community, has created huge controversy and people in one voice have demanded an enquiry from the government. Earlier, many Executive Officers from Poonch and Rajouri districts were shifted towards other districts on the charge of indulgence in corruption. Those Executive Officer of Urban Local Bodies who were involved in this backdoor appointment fraud need to be brought to justice as their dereliction of duties must be viewed seriously by the government in public interest.
