Ohh hooo, Afsoos! For DDC Chairperson Poonch, Droupadi Murmu is the Prime Minister of India; Becharri DDC council tera kya hoga
POONCH TODAY NEWS
POONCH: District Poonch is still considered a backward district from a development point of view. For this reason, none of the elected representatives at any level of governance for years were seen as blessed with a visionary approach, but the majority of them were seen as unfortunately playing religious or caste-based politics to come into power at any level.
Moreover, the majority of less knowledgeable people were voted into power over the years, and as a result, the district suffered a lot. On the one hand, the district was suffering from “Nalayak(visionless) leadership, and on the other hand, some inefficient officers in the administrative setup did nothing other than their main focus remained on financial gains through fraud over the years. If an area has inefficient leadership and inefficient officers, then the area is bound to suffer from a development point of view, and the Poonch district has seen this many times. Poonch leaders are traditionally known as “Tanki-Bathroom-Tiling” leaders because they have no vision for the overall development of Poonch other than Tanki-Bathroom-Tiling work. The poor performance of all the legislators in Poonch district is in front of all, and there is no further need to write on it. In this long list of inefficiencies, another episode has been added, and this is related to the sitting DDC Chairperson of Poonch, who, perhaps due to less familiarity with national knowledge, addressed Droupadi Murmu as Prime Minister of India in his tweet. Sensing trouble, she deleted her tweet later. It is important to mention here that President Droupadi Murmu launched the ‘Ayushman Bhav’ campaign on September 13. This initiative aims to provide saturation coverage of healthcare services in every village and town in the country in coordination with the health department and elected representatives, and the sitting DDC Chairperson attended this virtual program. However, in addition to this big mistake, there were more mistakes in that tweet, which she deleted later. If such a person with visible underprivileged wherewithal is holding an important post, then what is expected from her from a development point of view? Even the credibility of the existing DDC council remained extremely weak, with questions being regularly raised against the institution of the DDC council by some sitting PRIs. Few even termed the DDC institution a big failure. Are maximum PRIs not satisfied with the work of the sitting DDC Chairperson? This is a million-dollar question that is being debated at most places in Poonch district. Is the DDC Chairperson so frail that she doesn’t know who the PM of India is? Has she failed to set in order the institution of the DDC council, going by the behavior of maximum PRIs during official meetings and her lack of administrative awareness? Such unfortunate things show that only capable people should be brought onto any important chair, the failure of which will lead the very institution to face credibility issues. If the sitting DDC Chairperson doesn’t know that Droupadi Murmu is the President of India and not PM, then the sitting DDC council is surely heading towards its disastrous end, and PRIs should not expect a blue moon, further going by the saying “if the captain is weak, then the team is bound to suffer.” In the Poonch district, only a few elected representatives in the block and district councils are educated, mature, and act like visionary leaders, but unfortunately, they have no powers to set things in order, and it’s very unfortunate for the district from a development point of view. On this shocking development, a prominent social worker said, “Ohh hooo, Afsoos. Becharri DDC council tera kya hoga.”
