Not Shero-Shayri programs; people need regular power supply; Regular power cuts raise question marks for the Poonch administration
POONCH TODAY NEWS
POONCH: Poonch district is facing a power crisis these days as the unscheduled power cuts have raised a big question mark on the efficiency of district administration.
Locals opined that the Deputy Commissioner has maintained a questionable silence on the issue. After spending huge amounts of funds by JPDCL on improving infrastructure, nothing concrete has been done so far as a result; people have been facing regular power crises. Imagine what would happen to the water supply if Poonch witnessed regular power curtailments. The student community is also suffering a lot because of untimely power cuts. The district administration believes in routine work affairs and has never bothered to question the performance of the JPDCL, as this leads to an increase in the suffering of the common man due to the power crisis. The business community is also suffering a lot, but nobody in the administration has taken notice of this problem. Over the years, crores were provided to JPDCL under various schemes, but the majority of schemes were completed on paper only, thereby crooked officers looted money meant for strengthening the power infrastructure. There is huge resentment going on against the administration at several places. If this is the condition of Poonch City, then one can imagine the state of affairs of JPDCL in the far-flung areas of Poonch District. Despite facing a huge hue and cry over the power crisis, nobody in the administration is ready to address this issue; rather, top bosses of the administration believe in organizing Shero-Shayari programs just for misuse of funds without giving top priority to addressing the issue of the common man. It is important to mention here that the Poonch district has been facing administrative disaster on various accounts as the current set of administration, like the previous one, also failed to meet the expectations of the people. We need regular power supply and not shero-shayri programs. If the administration cannot provide basic amenities of life, then what is expected of other big developmental things? said locals.
