POONCH: After the Pran Pratishtha ceremony at Ayodhya dham, thousands of devotees of Bhagwan Ram today celebrated at Poonch with thumping drum beats amid the chanting of the religious slogan “Ram Chander Bhagwan ki Jai.” With tears in their eyes, a number of devotees who were seen dancing to the tunes of Lord Rama said that it’s a historic moment in their lives.
They said that it’s the beginning of Rama Rajya in the country, and Lord Rama will bring peace to the entire world. At the main bazaar, Poonch, a number of stalls were arranged by the business community members. Adequate security arrangements were made by the police. In other parts of the town, people also celebrated with big pomp and show. All the temples were fully decorated, and devotees were seen singing Ram bhajans. At the Navgrah temple, a Bhandara was organized, in which hundreds of people attended and prayed for global peace. It is important to mention here that this historic day has come after a struggle of more than 500 years. For the first time, large-scale efforts were made by the VHP when, during an important meeting on April 7 and 6, 1984, it was decided in the Dharma Sansad to launch a massive movement for the liberation of Ram Janambhomi at Ayodhya, Shri Krishan Janambhomi at Mathura, and the Kashi Vishwanath temple at Varanasi. After decades of hard struggle, the Supreme Court of India, in a historic verdict in 2019, solved the dispute, and the work of the Ram Temple started. Today, it was officially inaugurated after the consecration ceremony by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat. This day will go down in the history books as a historic day in 500 years of struggle for the Ram temple, which was demolished by Mughal ruler Babar. Shammi Bhalla, Chander Mohan, Ashok Johar, Rohit Kapoor, Vinay Mehta, S. Rajidner Singh Advocate, Arvind Sasan, Neetan Sharma, and others also expressed joy after the consecration ceremony. Former MLC Pardeep Sharma said, “I never thought in my dreams that one day I would see this moment, but with the blessings of God, I am extremely lucky that I have witnessed this historic moment. Kids, youngsters, women, and elders were seen chanting Ram Bhajan after the Pran Pratishtha ceremony.
