Open loot during NHM recruitments in Poonch district never investigated by the government; Blue-eyed NHM employees played foul, earned heavily

POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: Frequently, the matter of open loot by top officers of the Health Department in engaging staff for various posts under NHM contractual engagement came into the public domain, but despite having authentic information about the open fraud of ignoring meritorious candidates by selecting those who used to give handsome amounts to top officers, the silence of the government has worsened the situation and forced the meritorious candidates to remain in hibernation.

Many deserving candidates for various posts were humiliated and thrown out of the race tactfully. Those who gave advanced money to touts for various posts were also given advanced information about the question papers, the source said. Some appointments were also made on telephone calls, in violation of open rules. Blue-eyed NHM employees working from different places in the Poonch district were used to collect money from the aspiring candidates for various postings, and those who fell into the trap of the top officers of NHM were later selected in an open murder of merit. In addition to this recruitment fraud, many more frauds under different schemes were scripted by the same NHM officials who remained in important places in the district. It is important to mention here that the contractual recruitments under NHM in Poonch district always remained under one or other controversy over the alleged victory of money over merit. Many candidates who applied for different posts under NHM told “POONCH TODAY” that in spite of having top merit, they were not selected in various final lists. They said, “It’s not a coincidence that every time, you see high-merit candidates failing to crack the exam after viva voice, while low-merit candidates selected in most lists declared during the last few years.” One of the aggrieved students said, “I request the government  to conduct an inquiry into the last seven years of NHM recruitments in Poonch district, and I am 100 percent sure that the government will come to know that a large chunk of low-merit candidates were selected when final lists were declared after viva voice, and this shows that money influence was proved heavy over merit.”  It is pertinent to mention here that NHM has become a big scam in the district. Even its roots lie in the NHM directorate, and many MDs remain involved in big scams worth crores. The entire process of recruiting employees for various posts under the influence of money was working in a tactful manner in the Poonch district with the full support of the NHM Directorate, but it is shameful that the government failed to take action against the crooked officers of the health department, thereby allowing the meritorious candidates to suffer mental agony. Sources in the health department told “POONCH TODAY,” pleading anonymity, “Those who were involved in conducting NHM recruitments earned heavily, but it’s really shocking that not a single inquiry was ever conducted by the government.” On the one hand, the government claims transparency in every sector, but on the other hand, tainted NHM officials have not been taken to task, and it’s really disgusting.
