IAS Officer Mohd Aijaz Asad enjoys massive public support in Poonch-Rajouri, says, he will pay back every bit of love to the people

POONCH: IAs officer Mohd Aijaz Asad, who is administrative Secretary Planning, Govt. of J&K UT, said that he will pay back every bit of love to the people.
Aijaz Asad, who was given a rousing welcome at different places in Poonch district on the eve of the public darbar, which was held at Poonch today, saw his popularity among the people of Poonch at Krishan Chander Park. During the last one-year election rallies of various political leaders, Krishna Chander Park never witnessed such a huge gathering. Aijaz was brought by people on their shoulders from Nakhanwali Chowk to Krishan Chander Park, the venue of the public darbar. At Krishna Chander Park, Aijaz was also given a rousing reception. In the public darbar, Aijaz was accompanied by DDC Poonch Mohd Yaseen Choudhary and SSP Poonch Yougal Manhas. People from every section of society visited the darbar and raised their issues. Common issues related to poor electric and water supplies, road connectivity in far-flung areas, poor health care facilities, and numerous issues of public interest were raised by the public in the public darbar. During his emotional speech, Aijaz touched on his childhood and said that he knows the problems of the common man related to electricity, poor road networks, and water problems. He said he had to walk eight kilometers to reach school for his studies. Aijaz said, ‘Earlier, people had to face tough times in reaching out to government for addressing their issues, but today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and LG Manoj Sinha’s administration have started public durbar to reach out to people at their door steps to address their concern” amid thundering applause from the public. Aijaz said that the people of Poonch have given him immense love, for which he is highly thankful, and he has promised to pay back every bit of that love by addressing their concerns. Aijaz is the first IAS officer from the Poonch-Rajouri range to have enjoyed a massive reputation in the hearts of the people. In his address, Aiajz touched on several issues and said that Poonch district is a perfect example of communal harmony for the entire country. He also shed light on the famous historian Krishan Chander and said that there are hundreds of people still in the district who are contributing to the welfare of society in their different capacities. Aijaz’s speech was full of emotion. On the one hand, he was seen projecting the great works done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and LG Manoj Sinha for the people of J&K, and on the other hand, he was seen touching the emotions of every single person present in the public darbar. Aijaz said, “I understand the problems of the common man because I have faced all of them. I know the importance of roads, poor power, and water supply, as during my childhood, I witnessed all of them.” He also lauded the patriotism of Poonch people and said that the people of Poonch stand strongly with the nation, amid huge cheers from the people. Aijaz recounted the events of his three-month posting as DC Poonch, followed by his unexpected transfer to Rajouri district. Aijaz said, “After my transfer from my home district, Poonch, I told my senior officers that the transfer is part and parcel of government service, but nobody can transfer me from the hearts of the people of Poonch.” In this statement, Aijaz received massive applause. It is pertinent to mention here that Mohd Aijaz Asad, who served as Deputy Commissioner in six districts of J&K UT, is known for his highly successful and challenging tenures as DC Rajouri and DC Srinagar before he was given the prestigious posting of administrative secretary Planning Department in addition to being in charge of a few departments. But today’s public durbar held at Poonch shows that Aijaz Asad enjoys huge respect from the people, and it would be interesting to see how he would pay back the people of Poonch by addressing their grievances in his different capacities at the power corridors.
