Unbelievable: Commission culture has become a routine affair in the BDO Poonch office; massive frauds in PMAY, NREGA reported; High-level inquiry from anti-graft agencies is needed

POONCH TODAY NEWS

POONCH: BDO office Poonch is again in the news for massive corrupt practices, as highly placed sources informed “POONCH TODAY” that earning heavy commission has become a routine affair for the top chairs. Junior staff members pleading anonymity said that they were directed time and again to give commission to the top chairs and do whatever they can on the ground.

Data, which is available with “POONCH TODAY,” shows that a major chunk  of IAY/PMAY houses are not constructed on the ground, but the tainted officials of the BDO office, by using other photos, show 100% houses on the ground. Many cases of wrong geo-tagging have come to the forefront. In maximum cases, photos don’t match with each other on the ground, and it shows massive frauds have taken place in PMAY cases. Sources said that a big nexus is operating in the BDO office Poonch, which gives open protection to tainted officials to loot the government exchequer brazenly. Even in NREGA works, nothing lies on the ground. More than 60% of works are not existing on the ground, and in many works, huge compromises have taken place because earning money illegally remained the main priority of tainted officials of the BDO office Poonch, and it raised a big question mark on the credibility and intentions of BDO Poonch. Some works were completed on the ground during previous years, but the shrewd officials of BDO office Poonch used to show those works as new works and thereby openly give massive setbacks to the government exchequer. During the last year alone, earning money through commission and passing of wrong bills have become a top concern of some tainted chairs of the BDO office. A low-rank employee, on the condition of anonymity, said, “Kaam ho na ho, officers ko commission chaiye.” They said that if a high-level inquiry is initiated by any anti-graft agencies like ACB or others, then a massive scam will come out in PMAY and NREGA schemes. They further said that an in-depth inquiry of each and every PMAY case and NREGA work will bring out a massive fraud in the public domain. By taking hefty commissions, BDOs of some blocks even have allowed materials that are not allowed in the PMAY scheme. They said that under a planned strategy, those holding important chairs, have only one agenda, and that is to earn money by all means. Sources said leave previous years, but if an investigation is carried out only on works under various schemes from September 2023 onwards in the Ponch block alone, then a big scam worth several lacs, may be in crores, will come out. Some BDOs of the Poonch district have misused their official chair brazenly, for which a high-level inquiry is needed against them because, on the one hand, the union government claimed that massive infrastructure has been developed in rural areas through PMAY and NREGA schemes, but on the ground, tainted officials are busy only in befooling the government with their corrupt practices. Will the anti-graft agencies look into the issue as it’s an open murder of aspirations of the public by some tainted BDOs and their shrewd staff members, especially in the Poonch block?
