Is the NC sidelining Congress after witnessing the results of assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra? Omar-Rahul Omar formula proved weak in J&K

JAMMU: “Hum toh dubenge sanam tumko bhi lee dubenge,” and this line fits as far as the condition of Congress is concerned, which has faced a debacle in the assembly elections of Haryana and Maharashtra under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi.
Those political parties with which the Congress was an alliance partner suffered a big blow in the elections, and it shows that the National Conference under the leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and CM Omar Abdullah has learned a big lesson from this episode. The NC seems to have realized that the Omar-Rahul formula proved weak in J&K as the grand old party performed poorly in J&K, Haryana, and now Maharashtra. On the one hand, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the other day, categorically said that the Congress was supporting the government from outside, and on the other hand, NC’s wish to give the Deputy Speaker post to the BJP raised an apprehension that NC wants to sideline Congress and form healthy relations with the BJP to ensure smooth working of the government in J&K. The grand old party has won only one seat from the Jammu region, and that too from the Rajouri district. Congress, which was a strong force in the Jammu region, shattered badly in the recently held assembly elections in J&K, which took place after a gap of ten years. The Congress’s horrible performance has forced the NC’s think tank to play it safe to win the confidence of the BJP silently. The National Conference gave a huge number of seats to the Congress in J&K as a coalition partner, but the Congress performed below the expectations. Had the NC fought the elections on its own, it would have got a simple majority in J&K on its own, feel political pundits. Now, the NC leaders have realized that they have committed a big mistake by not going into the assembly elections alone. However, after this debacle, the Congress high command formed a high-level committee to know the reasons for the Congress debacle in J&K, as the said committee visited different districts of J&K to find the reasons for this debacle. At the same time, NC has started reaching areas of the Jammu division to expand its activities by taking advantage of the weak Congress party in the Jammu division. The NC wants to take advantage of this weak aspect of Congress and has started an advance exercise to expand its base in the Jammu region, eyeing future elections. The side effects of the Congress debacle are being seen in the entire J&K, as the NC think tank is in the process of forming a high-level strategy to play it safe in J&K. The Congress leaders are also busy finding the reason for its debacle and have started mass contact programs with an agenda to revive the grand old party again, especially in the Jammu region. But at the moment, the NC seems to have learned a big lesson from the election results of Haryana and Maharashtra and may not like to open its card bluntly against the BJP to secure a bright future in J&K, and this could be the reason that the NC leadership has slowly started sidelining Congress in J&K, although the grand old party may be given a one-cabinet berth by the NC leadership to maintain a silent political balance. Tactfully, the NC does not want to give the impression that there are weak relations between Omar Abdullah and Rahul Gandhi; at the same time, it wants to give the deputy speaker post to the BJP to maintain good relations, both with the Congress and the BJP.
