Installation of 50 MVA transformer, Locals hail District administration Poonch

POONCH: Poonch has been suffering from unscheduled power cuts and to address the issue, district administration arranged a 50 MVA transformer and the process of installation of the said 50 MVA transformer has started and it will take six to seven days for its complete installation. Locals have appreciated the action of administration and assured their full support. They also demanded  that work on 132 kv transmission line should be completed on war footing basis so that people would be able to see improvement in power scenario.  It is pertinent to mention here that District Poonch remained a sufferer from the last two decades due to long power cuts. Poocnh was the only district which was without 132 kv transmission line. Late Mufti Mohd Sayeed after taking over as CM of the erstwhile state of J&K, sanctioned 132 kv transmission line in 2003, and the said line suffered   a big jolt during 2012 snow storm, but it was connected again within five months. Again the said line suffered damages during September 2014 floods and that line is still out of order.  However, administration, sensing the gravity of the situation, arranged 50 MVA transformer which is likely to prove beneficial for Poonch in days to come. Locals have also demanded decreasing of power curtailment schedule from eight hours to four hours after the installation of 50 MVA transformer.
