POONCH:  A new kind of threat is looming significantly over the residents of Poonch, and this threat is from the rash driving of tractors on city roads to carry sand and gravel to different locations. Tractors are used for agricultural purposes, but it has been observed that day in and day out, a large number of tractor drivers have started plying on the main road, creating disturbance for the traffic system and proving a threat to the common man of Poonch due to their rash driving. The matter is already at the attention of the police, and in this connection, police have taken action against some tractor drivers in the past, but this menace is still going strong, thereby putting people’s lives at risk. Various senior citizens of Poonch said that they fear for their lives whenever they walk on roads because tractors used to ply so fast that their hearts started trembling. They said that tractor owners are not paying road tax and are meant for agricultural purposes only. Then why are the police not taking action against the wrongdoers? They questioned the silence of the police and requested that SSP start a drive against rashly driving tractors, keeping in view the safety of the common man.
