Sudden important developments raise a big question mark on intelligence agencies of police, army and civil administration; Doubtful history people at important security locations; MHA intervention needed

POONCH/RAJOURI: Despite being fully aware of the presence of people with uncertain credentials managing access to important security installations at the top level, including having access to top dignitaries, no proper action has yet been taken by the intelligence agencies related to police, army, and civil administration in the Poonch-Rajouri region, and this raises a big question mark for Deputy Commissioners, SSPs, and heads of different Army brigades.

Dhangri, BG, and other recent terrorist attack attempts are indications that Pakistan and its agencies are very active in the region and want to disturb the peaceful atmosphere by any means.  Moreover, those managing access at important security and VIP locations and behind the curtains, playing a dubious role against the government by scripting various protests on sensitive issues these days, have not been taken to task yet by the government, which points towards an intelligence failure. People with questionable credentials are hell-bent on disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the district. Moreover, the presence of such people at important security locations raises a big question mark about the intelligence-gathering network of the civil administration, police, and army. Who knows who is working for which anti-national or anti-social agency? Meanwhile, sudden and important developments in the region have started this debate again about how self-styled whistleblowers, people with unknown credentials, including in the fourth estate, have managed to access important security installations in addition to meeting with top dignitaries. Even government employees are seen using different tactics to project themselves as political leaders and media reporters, and all this is happening in front of the police, army, and civil administration. How have some people with doubtful credentials in the past suddenly become important dignitaries for the police and army? Are the intelligence agencies of the police, army, and civil administration so weak, or are the top officers deliberately overlooking this for reasons best known to them? More than a year ago, a self-styled journalist and BJP leader was later found to be a terrorist in Rajouri. Similarly, in the Kashmir Valley, a few portal walas were found to have links with terrorist outfits. There are strong reports that a large number of government employees have become political leaders and media reporters openly, thereby playing with the security of the nation, but it’s astonishing that no such exercise was ever conducted to filter out people with doubtful credentials. Even many clubs, fake media persons, NGOs, and self-styled social activists are reportedly under the radar of the intelligence agencies for getting support from different anti-national agencies to disturb peace in the country. Are Deputy Commissioners and SSPs in the Poonch-Rajouri region passing time rather than addressing this most important issue from a security point of view? There is ample proof that some employees and some self-styled social media reporters have gained access to top dignitaries of vital security importance. Even some top government officers are seen acting against the government openly and praising those supporting anti-national ideology. In maximum functions of the police and army at different places,  people with doubtful credentials are seen frequently, and it may prove to be a big security lapse in the future if taken lightly by the authorities in uniform. Persons with questionable credentials managing access to top positions in security installations have become a highly debatable issue from a security point of view, and if this issue is not addressed at an appropriate time, it may result in foul play of any kind from any quarter. It is important to mention here that Union Home Minister Amit Shah time and again directed the intelligence agencies operating in J&K to remain proactive against all anti-social and anti-national elements, but despite getting directions from MHA, no action was ever taken against persons with questionable credentials visiting important government installations of vital security importance.  A high-level investigation is needed from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in almost all the districts of Jammu division, especially in the Poonch-Rajouri belt, to identify such people who have doubtful credentials and have taken shelter behind whistle-blowing activities, NGOs, self-styled social and political activism, including some government employees and self-styled media men, in the interest of the security of the nation. Also, those civil and police officers who, despite knowing everything, have failed to take action against the guilty need to be brought to justice because nothing is more important than the internal security of the nation.
