NEW DELHI/JAMMU/POONCH: In a very tough stance that has sent ripples among the various anti-national lobbies, Home Minister Amit Shah, during the three back-to-back meetings on J&K, has directed the security forces and intelligence agencies to adopt a “Ruthless” approach against the terror ecosystem operating in J&K. Shah, who held three meetings on Feb 4, 5, and 11 with Home Secretary, LG J&K Manoj Sinha, top brass of the Army, CRPF, BSF, J&K Police, and intelligence agencies, was very clear in his approach and said that the Modi government is committed to eliminating the remnants of terrorism from J&K.

The Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah chairing a review meeting on Jammu & Kashmir’s Security and Development, in New Delhi on August 25, 2022.

During these three meetings, threadbare discussions were held on various aspects of terrorism and its support structures. This is the first time that the Home Minister has used a very tough approach by using the word “Ruthless.”. Although the LG Manoj Sinha-led J&K administration did a lot in waging a war against terrorism, and to a large extent, the security forces have achieved a big success during the last few years, occasional terror incidents in different parts of J&K, including the sensitive Rajouri-Poonch range, continued to challenge the government. The Home Minister Amit Shah directed the security agencies to cover all the aspects of terrorism and ensure zero tolerance against terrorism, infiltration, and narco-terrorism. During the three back-to-back meetings, the home minister stressed better coordination between security forces and intelligence agencies and said that the use of the latest technologies is necessary to detect the terror plans of the anti-national forces. It is important to mention here that after the abrogation of temporary articles 370 and 35-A, J&K police, the army, and intelligence agencies performed extraordinarily beyond the expectations of the union government by establishing peace in the valley after more than three decades. In tightening the nose of anti-national forces, LG Manoj Sinha played a big part as many government employees who were found to be supporting the anti-India ideology were dismissed from their services. A massive drive was also taken to identify those who were part and parcel of hawala funding to aid terror networks in J&K, and the J&K police and intelligence agencies achieved a desirable result. It is seen that during the last four years, those forces who were known for their open anti-India acts have crestfallen and now have gone into hibernation because the government has shown its zero-tolerance policy against the terror ecosystem in J&K. Although the terrorists were able to announce their unexpected presence by launching terror attacks at different places during the last few years to challenge the government claims of terror-free J&K, the security forces to a large extent foiled the plan of terrorists. But the latest tough stance of the Home Minister Amit Shah shows that the union government has decided to go all guns blazing against the terror ecosystem, and that’s why the home minister has used the word “Ruthless.”. However, this approach of the Union Home Minister is not digestible to some leaders in J&K who have shown their displeasure by politicizing the issue by saying that the security forces will misuse their powers against the innocents. These leaders and supporters of anti-India ideology in J&K were never seen condemning the martyrdom of army and police personnel during the terror attacks because of their hidden sympathies with the same ideology, but love to question the intentions of the union government to free J&K from the remains of terrorism. The other day, the former super cop of the J&K police, during an interview with a senior journalist, said that the anti-national ideology remained very active among the secretariat employees from the 90s onwards, but unfortunately, no efforts were made from the government to curb that ideology, and this statement of a former super cop shows that the anti-Indian sentiment remained heavy in J&K, but unfortunately, no strong actions were initiated to counter this mindset. “POONCH TODAY” also is in possession of some solid proofs that show how some bureaucrats (civil and police) remained supporters of anti-India ideology and indulged in other anti-national acts by supporting the separatist’s ideology behind the curtains through their paid men in the fourth estate, but shockingly, they were adjusted on prize postings for years. If this was the mindset of some bureaucrats, then what would be the mindset of those subordinate employees of different departments known for following the same ideology? A few high-ranked bureaucrats known for following the leftist ideology while holding important chairs were also seen targeting the government silently through their men and machinery in the fourth estate and several NGOs, and this shows that the roots of anti-India ideology remained very deep for years and are still active at various important places. Those forces that carried out the agenda of such bureaucrats were also recommended for various awards from the police, army, and government. It’s a clear indication of how this anti-national ecosystem has its roots everywhere, even in the bureaucracy, playing its role tactfully, and it’s a wake-up call for the intelligence agencies to identify the black sheep in the bureaucracy. However, to some extent, the union government and LG’s administration have suppressed those sentiments, but it is not guaranteed that such sentiments will never come back strongly. Meanwhile, the Home Minister Amit Shah has covered all the areas, right from counter-infiltration grid, narco-terrorism, area domination on upper reaches, strengthening the intelligence grid, and better coordination between all the agencies to achieve desirable results. After the meeting of the home minister Amit Shah, LG Manoj Sinha also chaired two meetings at Srinagar and Jammu to review the security scenario in J&K, where he directed the security agencies to implement the directions of the home minister on the ground against the anti-national ecosystem strongly. It would be interesting to see how the security forces and the intelligence agencies will act on the ground to achieve total peace in J&K, which is essential for the overall development. So the huge responsibility is on J&K police, the army, and intelligence agencies to implement the home minister’s and LG’s directions on the ground.
